Der Salon Berlin ist das Tonstudio in Lichtenbergs Industriegebiet, auf dem Gelände der Fahrbereitschaft, einer Gemeinschaft von Künstlern und Gewerbetreibenden. Ausgestattet mit einem grossen Aufnahmeraum, einer Sprecherkabine und zwei Regieräumen, gibt es auch ein hohes Treppenhaus für den „Bonham-Sound“. Studio Singer hat die Innenakustik des Salons konzipiert und mit einer Nachhallzeit von 0,5 sec im Aufnahmeraum einen durchsichtigen und lebendigen Sound geschaffen.
Live-Aufnahmen sind unsere Spezialität, auf bis zu 32 Spuren. Wir haben ein grosses Sortiment an Mikrofonen, die eure Musik über Mischpulte der Serie A500 und 5MT MR von ADT-Audio klar und druckvoll aufzeichnen.

Der Herr des Hauses
Christian Mevs hat im Hamburg der 80er und 90er Jahre die musikalische Subkultur als Produzent und Musiker mitgeprägt. Angefangen hat er 1980 als Gitarrist bei der Politpunkband Slime, bei der er bis heute spielt.

Er war Mitgründer und Betreiber des Soundgarden Tonstudios, in dem viele Bands der sogenannten Hamburger Schule (Tocotronic, Die Sterne, Blumfeld, Cpt Kirk &) ihre Platten aufnahmen. Zuvor war er mit seinem Industrial/Noiserock-Projekt George & Martha (1982 – 1989) bei John Peel in den Londoner BBC-Studios zu Gast.

Seit 20 Jahren beschäftigt sich Mevs zudem mit Musik und Sound in Theater, Fernsehen und Hörspiel. Hier konnte er zahlreiche Erfahrungen in Mehrkanalaudio (5.1 und 3D Audio) sammeln.

Christian Mevs ist Mitglied im Verband deutscher Tonmeister (VDT) und geht niemals bei Rot über Ampeln.

Das Team

Steffen Köhler hat musikalische Vorlieben. Alles was handgemacht und authentisch ist. Vom knüppelbrechenden Haudrauf bis zum herzzerreißenden Spelunken-Evergreen, pro-amtlich produziert. Und sonst: Von Stereo bis Fulldome, vom Kinderhörbuch bis zur Robbenbabydoku reicht der Produktionshorizont.

Mischkah Wilke lebt abwechselnd in seinen beiden 2″ 24-Track Maschinen. Bei der Produktion im Studio kommt er ohne Computer aus, kennt sich aber auch bestens mit Protools und Cubase aus. Aufgewachsen mit Hiphop, ist seine musikalische Welt aber vor allem die der 50er und 60er Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts.

Sanni Pohl liebt Livemusik. Daher ist der Livemix ihr Ding. Im Studio recorded sie mit dem Vorsatz, das auch so aufs Band zu bringen. Und sie freut sich, wenn Zeit ist, mal was Unkonventionelles auszuprobieren. Sie arbeitet gerne mit Studenten und macht das als Dozentin im Street College und der SAE Berlin. Sie liebt Netzwerken und interessante Gespräche mit kuhlen Leuten.
